Fish that can Walk


Fish Gelodok, belodok, belodog or blodog (mudskipper) - Is a group of fish from several genera belonging to the tribe Oxudercinae.Ikan child-like fish jumping to the mainland, especially in muddy areas or shallow water around the mangroves when the water subsided.


Other names are tembakul, tempakul, timpakul or belacak (Malay), sea foam, lunjat and others. In English called the mudskipper, his habit of jumping around in the mud.


This fish is very distinctive look (very funny according klo ane). His eyes are raised above his head like a frog eye, face a low and flat, and back fins outstretched charming. Long round body like a torpedo, while the rounded tail fins, body length varies from a few centimeters to nearly 30 cm.

Gelodok preys on various animals, ranging from laundry crabs (Uca spp.), Shrimp, fish, shellfish, squid, up to ngangrang ants and flies. This fish is also thought to eat the little plants. While exploring the mainland, gelodok also frequently attack and drive out gelodok others, to defend its territory.

Not much revealed the value of this fish. But this fish is among the most resistant to environmental degradation, and can still live in conditions that are "apprehensive" though. But in China and Japan, fish gelodok be fine dining, but also used as traditional medicine, primarily as a male power enhancers.
